This was my very first time buying a home, and wow, I could hardly have lucked out more than to have had Marc as my agent. The first conversation we had was to set priorities, timelines and areas of town for the search. When I was starting out, I gave Marc very little to go on–I wanted to be close to work (near Carowinds) or maybe near Uptown? Maybe I wanted a house, but a condo could do, and as for neighborhood, well, I had no idea. The first day we went to look at homes, Marc did an excellent job presenting me with a whole spread of places–we hit five very different ones (all of his suggestion) in three hours, and in each one Marc asked me questions that really helped me figure out more of what I was actually wanting. Marc was really knowledgeable about all the properties that we visited throughout my months of searching–we looked in upwards of ten neighborhoods, and he had sold homes in all of them, usually even in the same complexes we were looking in. That was a wonderful thing–he was able to discuss all the properties we saw from many different angles of consideration based on a deep well of experience working with clients of all different kinds of taste. Knowledge aside, Marc was also an extremely supportive agent. He looked out for me on things that I would absolutely have overlooked and he definitely bolstered my confidence at low points. Hunting for a home can be an emotional journey, and my experience was no exception. When I told Marc (after very nearly making an offer on a property at a time when I was feeling pretty desperate in the fast-paced Charlotte market) that I wanted to *completely* rewrite my search priorities, he not only took it really gracefully, but he was able to adjust and get on the same page I had jumped to without missing a beat. When the time came for contracts and negotiations, Marc was extremely on top of it, applying pressure on various parties involved in the closing process to make the whole thing about as smooth and easy as buying a home could be. All told, I'd say that Marc is a totally splendid agent–very responsive, attentive to your concerns (sometimes before you yourself are wise to them), extremely knowledgable about the Charlotte market, and gifted with a beautiful personal touch that makes house hunting with Marc a true pleasure.
